Never mix: what happens when cleaners combine

Ingredient-class warnings and product compatibility limits for 47 combinations.

Do not mix cleaning products unless the exact manufacturers explicitly direct that use. Chlorine bleach with acids or ammonia can release hazardous gases; toilet cleaners have varying formulas and must not be combined with another cleaner. A rinse does not establish that later use of a different product is safe. Ingredient-level chemistry cannot validate commercial mixtures.

For exposure or suspected poisoning, contact a poison centre promptly; do not wait for symptoms. If fumes were released, move to fresh air if safe, avoid re-entry and seek urgent help for breathing difficulty or other severe symptoms. Open the individual mixing file for poison-service contacts and qualified first-aid guidance.

TO Toxic

Potentially toxic reactions: do not combine the products.

HA Hazard

Potential chemical or pressure hazards: do not combine the products.

BA Backfires

The combination may reduce performance; labels still govern compatibility.

PO Pointless

Little established benefit; do not improvise a mixture.

CA Caution

No blanket permission: exact product labels must explicitly allow the use.
